The Beacon City School District is accepting applications for a leave replacement teacher vacancy with the following: Anticipated dates: August 31, 2022 – November 2, 2022 Valid NYS Certification in English as a New Language/English as a Second Language (ENL/ESL) K-12; or Bilingual Education K-12;Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the following are required:NYS Learning Standards and curriculum design, delivery, and assessment for NYSESLAT and ENL progressions; Developmental Stages of Language Acquisition Skills for English;Effective, student centered classroom management strategies;Assessment of Home Language Questionnaires and determination of eligibility of ENL services for new entrants;Culturally responsive instructional practices for elementary classrooms;Integration of technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning;Use of summative and formative student data to inform instructional decisions and student progress for (NYSITEL and NYSESLAT);Effective strategies for student and family engagement;Knowledge/experience of Responsive Classroom, and Sheltered Instructional Model, a plus;Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, required;Prior teaching experience desired.
