Dates: August 1, 2022- June 30, 2023 Valid NYS Certification as a School Counselor required;Responsibilities:Provides individual counseling to address academic and social-emotional needs of students and support post-secondary college and career success;Advises students concerning their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, and academic and career goals;Educate students and families about colleges, careers and financial aid/scholarship opportunities;Collaborates with teachers, staff, families and community members to meet the needs of students;Uses technology to implement a comprehensive school counseling program to support college and career readiness and post-secondary success planning;Identifies at-risk students and collaborates with teachers and school staff to create appropriate interventions and recommendations;Plans, coordinates, and conducts department and school-wide activities that contribute to students’ academic, social, and post-secondary success such as career fairs, college fairs, and family engagement nights.Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, required;3-5 years of high school counseling experience, preferred.
