CSE/CPSE Chairperson (1.0 FTE) The Blind Brook-Rye Union Free School District is seeking a qualified and passionate Chairperson to lead CPSE, CSE (K–12), and Section 504 meetings. Responsibilities - Facilitate CPSE, CSE, and Section 504 meetings district-wide. - Ensure compliance with Section 504 regulations and support the development and monitoring of student accommodation plans- Coordinate and oversee CPSE responsibilities, including preschool evaluations, placements, and family communication- Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director of Pupil Services on the coordination of annual review meetings K–12- Uphold all legal requirements, IDEA regulations, and NYSED Part 200 & 201 mandates- Guide programming decisions to ensure students are educated in the least restrictive environment- Engage and support special education and related service staff to ensure high-quality programs and services are aligned with each student’s IEP- Communicate and collaborate effectively with families, service providers, and school staff- Assist the Director and Assistant Director in planning and implementing professional development related to CSE responsibilities- Monitor, review, and support the development and implementation of IEPs- Collaborate closely with pupil services administration and building leaders- Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to work effectively with all stakeholders? Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Pupil ServicesQualifications - Minimum of 5 years of special education experience- Experience chairing CPSE, CSE, and/or Section 504 meetings- Valid NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher or School Psychologist preferredCandidates with certification as a Social Worker, Speech-Language Pathologist, or other Special Education-related certification will also be considered - Strong knowledge of IDEA, NYS regulations, and best practices in supporting students with disabilitiesSalary Competitive salary as per the Federation of Teachers contract
