Blind Brook UFSD seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary position for the 2025/2026 School Year: Special Education Teacher - Grade 5 ICTQualifications:Valid NYS certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6) required.Experience in Specially Designed Instruction and co-teaching preferred.Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively and actively communicate with administrators, teachers, support staff, and parents;Demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills.Experience administering standardized assessments Responsibilities Include: Collaborate with General Education Teachers: Co-plan and co-deliver instruction in inclusive classroom settings. Align teaching strategies with general curriculum standards and individual student needs.Develop and Implement IEPs: Write and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.Differentiate Instruction: Provide targeted instruction based on students’ learning styles and needs. Adapt materials and strategies to ensure access for all learners.Use Data to Drive Instruction: Collect and analyze student performance data. Modify instruction based on formative assessments and behavioral data. Implement appropriate MTSS interventions based on data analysis.Support Behavioral and Social-Emotional Developmen: Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavioral supports. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.Communicate with Families and Staff: Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress. Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and team meetings.Ensure Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including IEP paperwork, service logs, and progress reports. Follow school, district, and state guidelines for special education services.Engage in Professional Development: Attend training sessions and stay current on best practices in special education and inclusive teaching.
