The Blind Brook-Rye UFSD has an anticipated opening for a probationary Special Education Teacher in the B.M.P Ridge Street School in an 8:1:1, K-2 special class for the 2022-2023 school year. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Must have strong behavioral management skills and instructional techniques that foster a healthy and productive academic classroom environment.Must have experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)Must be skilled in the delivery of instructional guidance and supervision of paraprofessionals.Will have specialized training and experience in the structured, multisensory instruction of reading, writing, speaking, and math to students with moderate language-based learning disabilities. Will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with related service providers, grade level staff, and the special class team. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare daily lesson plans for all instructional periods in a format developed in collaboration with the school administration.Keep accurate records of individual student progress throughout the school year.Provide parents with evaluative feedback on student progress Develop curricula throughout the school year consistent with the class profile and students’ IEPs in collaboration with school administrative staff.Provide structured time for Parent Training.
