DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUMEFFECTIVE: August 4, 2025 LOCATION: District Office WORK YEAR: 11 Months REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Instruction MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Valid NYS School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) CertificationMinimum of 5 years of prior administrative experiencePrior teaching experienceKnowledge of the Science of ReadingCollaborate with and supervise math and literacy coachesCollaborate with professional development consultants in the development of a professional development calendar, curriculum guides and curriculum revisionsCollaborate with the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction regarding professional development necessary for the effective implementation of the intended curriculum and instructional best practices in all schoolsCollaborate with elementary school principals and reading and math AIS teachers to analyze data and use data to inform instructionKnowledge of literacy intervention strategies and MTSS processAssist in the recruiting, screening and training of qualified candidates for positionsWorks cooperatively with other administrators to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment among instructional programsPrepare and administer the budget for instructional materialsProvide guidance in the selection and use of texts and other teaching materialKeeps current with educational developments and literature in the field of education and participates in the affairs of state and national professional organizations devoted to the advancement of curriculum and instructionSupervise and coordinate the NYS 3-8 testing programResponsible for the development and implementation of federal grantsOversee homeschooling requestsResponsible for the organization and supervision of the summer school program and extended school year programsChair committees as neededPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction
