Baldwin UFSD embraces its diverse community.The Baldwin Union Free School District (UFSD) is seeking candidates for the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources position who embodies several key qualities and qualifications:Certification: NYS School District Leader (SDL) CertificationExperience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a public-school building principal and/or district administrator, along with at least five (5) years of teaching experience.Educational Leadership: A strong background in educational administration, ideally with experience in human resources within a school district or educational setting.Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with staff, students, and the community.Expertise in HR Practices: In-depth knowledge of human resources practices, labor laws, and regulations, including recruitment, hiring, performance, and employee relations.Visionary Thinker: Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance staff recruitment, retention, and professional development.Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis to assess HR metrics and make informed decisions that support the district's goals.Problem-Solving Ability: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex HR challenges and implement effective solutions.Collaborative Mindset: Experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and the school board, to align HR practices with the district’s mission.Passion for Education: A genuine commitment to the mission of improving educational outcomes and supporting staff in their professional growth.Adaptability: Ability to navigate the changing landscape of education and HR practices, staying current with trends and best practices.Overall, Baldwin UFSD would be looking for a dynamic leader who can drive the district’s human resources initiatives while supporting a positive and productive work environment.Responsibilities:Overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for all staff positions.Addressing employee concerns and grievances, facilitating conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work environment.Supporting professional development and growth opportunities for employees.Developing, implementing, and reviewing HR practices and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Collaborating with labor unions and managing collective bargaining agreements.Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and resolving disputes as needed.Coordinating and facilitating professional development programs for staff.Ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including those related to equity and non-discrimination.Assisting in the development and management of the HR budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.Providing guidance and support to school administrators on HR-related issues.Engaging with the community and stakeholders to promote the district’s human resources initiatives.Building partnerships to support recruitment and staff development efforts.Performs additional duties as delegated by the Superintendent of Schools.
