POSITION: Dean of Students LOCATION: Baldwin High School REPORTS TO: Building Principal EFFECTIVE DATE: July 1, 2024 RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate all matters pertaining to the assigned grade level of students, including but not limited to, attendance, behavior, academics, extracurricular activities, student and staff safetyRespond to referrals made by staff on student discipline and conduct during lunch, hall duty, dismissal, after school and other times designated by the building principal and assistant principalsConduct mediations/restorative practices for students Counsel/interact with individual students on discipline/behavioral issuesEnforcement of the School Code of ConductParticipate in the development, modification, maintenance, and implementation of Attendance Policy & PracticeSupervision of AM and PM detention/separation/community serviceSupervise and coordinate entry and dismissal process and hallway passing timeCollaborate with the building principal and assistant principals in the daily management of the building for a safe school environmentPerform teacher observationsOther duties as required and assigned by the building principalSALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary in accordance with the Association of Baldwin Administrators contract, 10.5 - month position.QUALIFICATIONS: A valid New York State School Building Leader Certification Experience with handling social emotional needs of students Bilingual Spanish Preferred
