ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF BALDWIN HIGH SCHOOL START DATE: Anticipated August 3rd, 2026 EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 School Year (11-month position; prorate for start date) REPORTS TO: High School Principal QUALIFICATIONS: Valid NYS School Building Leader (SBL) Certification, or equivalent Minimum five years of experience as a teacher and/or previous administrative leadership experience in a building-level position Energetic and enthusiastic leader Strong communication and organizational skills Strong work ethic and integrity standards Knowledge of secondary student development Knowledge of eSchool student learning management system preferred Master Scheduling experience preferred RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Principal in the overall administration, supervision, and operation of the high school in accordance with Board of Education policies, district procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Provide instructional leadership through the supervision, support, and evaluation of teachers and staff, including classroom observations, conferences, professional growth, and implementation of district evaluation systems. Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of curriculum, instruction, assessment, Response to Intervention (RTI), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to promote student achievement and success. Assist in building-level planning, decision-making, school improvement initiatives, and the analysis of student performance data. Coordinate and oversee school assessment programs, including Advanced Placement, Regents examinations, and other state and local testing requirements. Supervise student attendance, conduct, discipline, and student support processes, ensuring compliance with due process requirements and district policies. Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of building procedures, student records systems, and operational practices. Serve as the Principal’s designee, as assigned, for Committee on Special Education (CSE), Section 504, intervention, and other student support meetings. Assist with staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, supervision, and retention efforts. Coordinate and supervise assigned departments, programs, extracurricular activities, student events, and ancillary areas. Support the development and implementation of the master schedule, professional learning opportunities, and program enrichment initiatives. Oversee operational functions as assigned, including technology/device distribution, building use, safety procedures, emergency preparedness, and security protocols. Provide leadership in the administration of student discipline and behavior management programs, including the implementation of restorative practices, investigation of disciplinary incidents, communication with students and families, and the promotion of a safe, respectful, and positive school climate that supports student success. Foster positive relationships with students, staff, families, community organizations, and parent groups, and represent the school at district and community events. Prepare reports, maintain records, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district requirements. Serve on district and building committees and participate in ongoing professional learning. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. COMPENSATION: $156,703 (Commensurate with experience and in accordance with the Association of Baldwin Administrators’ Agreement and prorate for start date)
