2023-2024 VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION: Dean of Students LOCATION: Baldwin High School QUALIFICATIONS: A valid New York State School Building Leader Certification Experience with handling social emotional needs of students RESPONSIBILITIES: Enforcement of the School Code of ConductProvide direction and guidance to teachers in addressing issues related to student managementRespond to referrals made by staff on student discipline and conduct during lunch, hall duty, dismissal, after school and other times designated by the building principal and assistant principalsMediations/Peer MediationsCounsel/interact with individual students on discipline/behavioral issuesParticipate in the development, modification, maintenance, and implementation of Attendance Policy & PracticeSupervision of AM and PM detention/separation/community serviceSupervise and coordinate entry and dismissal process and hallway passing timeCollaborate with the building principal and assistant principals in the daily management of attendance for a safe school environmentPerform teacher observationsOther duties as required and assigned by the building principal REPORTS TO: Building Principal EFFECTIVE DATE: July 1, 2023 SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary in accordance with the Association of Baldwin Administrators contract, 10.5 - month position.
