The Babylon Union Free School District is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to serve as Building Substitute Teachers for Grades 3 through 6 for the 2026–2027 school year. Position Overview: Building Substitutes will be assigned to a specific school building and will be responsible for providing instructional coverage in classrooms as needed. This includes implementing lesson plans, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of students. Qualifications: New York State Teaching Certification Experience working with elementary-aged students Strong classroom management and communication skills Flexibility and a collaborative mindset Responsibilities: Provide daily instructional coverage for absent teachers Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment Collaborate with grade-level teams and building administration Support school-wide initiatives and student supervision as needed Schedule & Compensation: Full school day, Monday through Friday Competitive daily rate Opportunity for long-term assignments and professional growth Application Process: All interested candidates must apply via the Online Application System for Educators (OLAS) or via email ( mwells@babylonufsd.com ) on or before September 10, 2026.
