ANTICIPATED VACANCYAssistant Superintendent for Curriculum & InstructionAbout the JobDue to promotion, the Babylon Union Free School District is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. This is a Central Office position assisting the Superintendent in the duties of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs, services, and outcomes for our students. In addition to being an outstanding communicator demonstrating effective interpersonal and leadership skills, he or she must demonstrate an ability to facilitate group decision-making and communication among stakeholder groups. The ideal candidate must also have widespread knowledge and experience in supervising, implementing, and assessing the following general areas: K-12 instruction & learningUniversal Pre-Kindergarten Programs (UPK)State and national assessment administrationsTangible data sets that identify individual, grade level/department and school-wide instructional strengths/needs, analyzed both annually and longitudinallyState reporting & accountabilityState and Federal grants administrationMeaningful professional development opportunities for the instructional and non-instructional staffSupervision and evaluation of instructional staffTerms of Employment: Twelve (12) month positionPrior experience as a distinguished building principal and/or central office leader in a K-12 district is highly preferred.
