Primary Function: The Data Director is responsible for overseeing all data reporting and data-driven initiatives within the school district. This includes managing required state and federal data reporting, creating internal reports to support district operations, and collaborating with instructional leaders to ensure effective use of data in curriculum planning and execution. The role also involves keeping the district updated on technological trends and tools to enhance educational outcomes.Qualifications:Certification Requirements: NYS Certifi cation in School District Leader (SDL), School Building Leader (SBL), or related fi eld.Preferred Qualifications Educational technology, data management, or a related fi eld Data reporting, analysis, and interpretation within an educational setting Familiarity with educational software, learning management systems, and student information systems (SIS) Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Willingness to learn new processes independently and with support.Key Responsibilities:Data Reporting & Analysis Manage and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all required district data reports (state, federal, and other mandated reports). Develop and maintain internal data reports to assist the district in decision-making, tracking progress, and meeting goals. Collaborate with the Executive Director of Instructional Technology to create and deliver ad hoc reports as needed.Collaboration with Curriculum Implementation Work closely with district leadership to interpret and analyze data related to curriculum and instructional strategies. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to help shape and implement curriculum in alignment with student achievement goals. Assist in the evaluation of curriculum effectiveness by analyzing trends and presenting results to the executive team.Technology Integration & Support Stay informed about the latest developments in educational technology and software tools that could support district initiatives and success. Recommend and implement technological solutions to enhance curriculum delivery, improve data management, and support district-wide initiatives. Collaborate with instructional and technology teams to ensure the effective use of new technologies and to train staff in their implementation.Stakeholder Communication Maintain open communication with district leadership, school administrators, and teachers regarding the use of data and technology in decision-making and instruction. Regularly update the Executive Director of Instructional Technology on data trends, reporting status, and the impact of new technology implementations.Continuous Improvement & Professional Development Lead initiatives aimed at improving data collection, reporting processes, and the integration of technology within the district. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with the changing technology landscape, educational software, and data management best practices.Compliance & Data Governance Ensure that all data reporting adheres to applicable data privacy laws and district policies. Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, including data integrity, confidentiality and security.
