The Auburn Enlarged City School District is seeking a certified candidate for the title of Executive Director of Secondary Curriculum & Instruction at the administrative building. The Auburn Enlarged City School District is an equal opportunity employer.Primary Function:The Executive Director of Secondary Education is responsible for the strategic leadership, supervision, and continuous improvement of the district's secondary schools (grades 7-12). This individual will ensure the effective implementation of instructional programs, equitable access to learning opportunities, student achievement, staff development, and school improvement initiatives aligned with the district’s mission, vision, and goals.Qualifications:Certification Requirements: NYS Certification in School District Leader (SDL), School Building Leader (SBL), or related field.Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years of experience in secondary education curriculum and instruction. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and leadership skills.Key Responsibilities:1. Support curriculum audits and review instructional materials for alignment, equity, and effectiveness2. Coordinate and facilitate the district’s Curriculum Council and Department Facilitators at the secondary level.3. Oversee and implement high-quality professional development aligned with district goals and instructional priorities.4. Provide input to assist in making decisions related to resource allocation review to support effective teaching and learning.5. Monitor and support best instructional practices and innovations in teaching and learning.6. Oversee local and state assessments, data analysis, and7. Support secondary ENL programming and home instruction coordination.8. Serve as liaison for instructional technology integration and support.9. Coordinate data collection and analysis for instructional decision-making.10. Oversee Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) in secondary schools.11. Support school improvement planning (SCEP, DCIP, SIG) and monitor implementation and accountability.12. Facilitate secondary leadership team meetings and co-facilitate joint Director/Principal meetings.13. Coordinate districtwide staff development days with emphasis on grades 7–12 needs.14. Collaborate with counseling staff on career planning, P-TECH, and college and career readiness initiatives.15. Support and expand the Seal of Civic Readiness and Seal of Biliteracy programs.16. Work with Cayuga Community College to support dual enrollment and workforce pathways.17. Supervise and evaluate instructional staff (APPR).18. Contribute to district-wide strategic planning and ESSA grant.19. Manage translation and interpretation services to ensure equitable access to curriculum and assessments.20. Oversee and coordinate secondary department meetings.21. Coordinate and collaborate with the Executive Director of Elementary Education and Special Programs.22. Implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming and monitor the success of such programs and initiatives.23. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
