The Auburn Enlarged City School District is seeking a certified candidate for the title of Executive Director of Secondary Curriculum & Instruction at the administrative building. The Auburn Enlarged City School District is an equal opportunity employer.Primary Function:The Executive Director of Elementary Education and Special Programs is responsible for the strategic leadership, supervision, and continuous improvement of the district's elementary schools (grades K-6). This individual will ensure the effective implementation of instructional programs, equitable access to learning opportunities, student achievement, staff development, and school improvement initiatives aligned with the district’s mission, vision, and goals.Qualifications:Certification Requirements: NYS Certification in School District Leader (SDL), School Building Leader (SBL), or related field.Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years of experience in elementary education curriculum and instruction. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and leadership skills.Key Responsibilities: Support curriculum audits and review instructional materials for alignment, equity, and effectiveness. Coordinate and facilitate the district’s Curriculum Council and Department Facilitators at the elementary level.. Oversee and implement high-quality professional development aligned with district goals and instructional priorities. Provide input to assist in making decisions related to resource allocation review to support effective teaching and learning. Monitor and support best instructional practices and innovations in teaching and learning. Oversee the administration of local and state assessments. Lead and support Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK and UPK3) programming. Serve as liaison for instructional technology integration and support. Coordinate data collection and analysis for instructional decision-making. Oversee Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) in elementary schools. Assist English as a New Language (ENL) support and programming. Support school improvement planning (SCEP, DCIP, SIG) and monitor implementation and accountability. Facilitate elementary leadership team meetings and co-facilitate joint Director/Principal meetings. Assist in planning district staff development days with a focus on PreK–6. Oversee implementation of SEL curriculum in partnership with district mental health leaders. Supervise and evaluate instructional staff (APPR). Contribute to district-wide strategic planning and ESSA grant. Oversee and coordinate elementary department meetings. Manage translation and interpretation services to ensure equitable access to curriculum and assessments. Coordinate and collaborate with the Executive Director of Secondary Education and Special Programs Implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming and monitor the success of such programs and initiatives.
