Title: Director of Athletics, Health, and Physical EducationQualifications:Education:o Administrative Certification Requiredo NYS Physical Education and Health Teaching Certificationo Standard CPR and First Aid Certificationso Knowledge of curriculum and best instructional practices in health and physical educationo Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, community members, and students to maintain and strengthen sound human relations for the improvement of the school programExperience:o Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a health and/or physical education teacher (preferred)o Coaching experience (preferred)General Responsibilities:o Provide strategic direction for athletics, physical education (PE), and health programso Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedureso Manage departmental budgets, including funding, equipment, and facilitieso Oversee the development and evaluation of PE and health education curriculao Ensure alignment with state and national standards.o Introduce innovative programming that supports student wellness and development Created May 2025o Supervise school sports programs at all levels (elementary to high school)o Hire, evaluate, and support coaches and athletic staff.o Ensure athletic programs promote sportsmanship, inclusivity, and student developmento Coordinate athletic schedules, events, and transportationo Promote health and wellness initiatives throughout the school communityo Collaborate with health professionals and educators to address student health needso Support programs addressing nutrition, mental health, and physical activityo Ensure all athletic and PE programs comply with district, state, and national regulationso Oversee risk management, safety protocols, and injury prevention strategieso Maintain records related to student-athlete eligibility, health screenings, and physicalso Serve as a liaison between the district, parents, community organizations, and state associationso Promote programs through outreach and public relationso Advocate for resources and support for athletic and health education programso Provide training and support for coaches, PE, and health educatorso Encourage continuing education and certifications.o Make recommendations to the Superintendent to appoint qualified coaches for all athletic teamso Oversee the operation of the athletic program within the district budgeto Perform supervisory duties and evaluations as designated by the Superintendent or his/her designeeSalary:$105,000 - $110,000(depending on experience)
