Assistant Superintendent for PersonnelJOB DESCRIPTIONREPORTS TO: SuperintendentLOCATION: District WideSALARY RANGE: $120-125,000POST CLOSES: November 8, 2024Position Goal: The Assistant Superintendent is a high-level, cabinet position providing exceptionalsupport to the Superintendent of Schools. The Assistant Superintendent will serve as a problem solver, thought partner and change agent to all stakeholders with an unwavering commitment to excellence and outcomes. He/she will report directly to the Superintendent of Schools.Performance Responsibilities:Working with the School Board, Superintendent of Schools, and District Administrators, to assure the organization achieves its mission, goals, priorities, and measurable targetsDevelops, implements and monitors systems, policies & procedures, and standards in compliance with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations; coordinates department management and personnel, information and resources to assure services, organizations and departments run smoothly and efficiently.Leads recruitment and retention efforts, facilitate district recruitment & retention committeeMonitors district-wide interview practices, facilitate administrative and confidential interview processesOversees staff orientation Supervises district mentoring programOversees APPR and staff evaluation system Oversees district accountability system, discipline process and 3020A investigationsOversees the district transfer process, vacancies and promotionsLeads bargaining unit negotiationsSupervises worker’s compensation, unemployment claims and reasonable assuranceOversees district health & retirement benefits systemsOversees system for staff leaves, employee assistance and FMLAOversees district TEACH and certification data, tenure and seniorityOversees access to public recordsOversees process for emergency procedures development, implementation and reporting. Oversees fire inspections for all District buildings and files necessary reports with State Education Department. Facilitate district wide safety committee.Oversees workplace violence preventionOversees mandatory, annual, staff trainingEvaluates Teachers and Administrators: Conduct regular evaluations of teachers andadministrators to ensure compliance with district policies and standards.Partners with district departments to plan annually for transportation policies, procedures, and timelines.District DASA & Title IX CoordinatorServe on District DEI Taskforce, District Parent CouncilOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Supervises:Supervises & evaluates assigned staffDirectly supervises all administratorsQualifications:Minimum Five (5) years of teaching experienceMinimum Five (5) or more years of experience in building level leadershipPossess NYSED SDL or SDA certificationTerms of Employment:Twelve-month positionConfidential positionReport to Superintendent of Schools
