Title: Supervisor of Human ResourcesReports To: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources or designeeSupervises: Any employee assigned to him/her by the Superintendent or designeeSalary: $135,000-$150,000Job Goal: The Supervisor of Human Resources assists the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the staffing, management, development, and personnel affairs of the school system in compliance with pertinent laws, Board of Education policies and instructions from the Superintendent. Performance Responsibilities:This is a twelve month position. The Supervisor of Human Resources will be, but are not limited to, the following: Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources with the organization and management of the personnel files for the professional and classified staff, including all employee records, and performance reviewsManage tenure and seniority listsManage the development of professional and classified postings for available positionsDevelop and manage procedures for the advertising of District positionsCollaborate with building principals to implement all aspects of the Annual Professional Performance Review and supervise the staff evaluation process for assigned teaching staff membersAssist with the monitoring, interpretation, and implementation of all employee contractsCollaborate on the development, maintenance, and updating of job descriptions for all positions in the DistrictProvide support to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for negotiations with all employee groupsProvide support to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in administering the grievance and arbitration procedures for all employee groupsDevelop and update employee manualsProvide support to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the recruitment, employment, retention and termination processes for all employee groupsWithin the recruitment function, assist the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources to develop a program increasing staff diversity that promotes a special focus on the recruitment of diverse candidatesCollaborate with the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the ongoing recruitment process for all staff based on:annual budgetretirements and resignationsleaves of absencespart-time/temporary needsAssist with the New Teacher Induction and Mentor ProgramFacilitate professional development for staff on mandatory annual compliance trainingsMonitor personnel trends related to all employee groupsConduct research studies related to best practices in educationMonitor and update employee database systemsProvide instruction and support to staff on Basic Educational Data System (BEDS) Employee Personnel Master File (ePMF)Assist with State reporting for District and Building BEDS and Institutional Master File (IMF)Manage programs related to substitute employees; monthly interviews, new staff orientation, and trainingCollaborate with the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources to plan, direct and coordinate the certificated staff and civil service staff recruitment program within District policyPromote positive and harmonious relations with the District’s employee organizationsMonitor and implement State certification and Civil Service rules and other requirements related to the professional and classified staffWork with area colleges and universities to manage student teacher programsProvide for the professional development of administrators, managers and staff on topics related to personnel practices, trends and issuesCarry out District policies and administrative regulationsImplement and manage the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources with staff investigationsPerform other tasks/activities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, and/or the Superintendent of Schools Qualifications:Must possess appropriate NYS certification to work on the district levelDemonstrate exceptional skills in human relations, communications, problem solving and organization For additional information go to https://www.arlingtonschools.org/Page/298 and click on Current Vacancies.
