As a School Counselor (Secondary) you will provide counseling support to all students regarding their graduation requirements and transition plans. You will oversee all student scheduling and the report card process ensuring that credits are assigned in accordance with all state education regulations. Responsibilities:Collaborate with administration to develop the master schedule Hold all student 9-12 scheduling meetingsProvide individual and group counseling to students facing academic, emotional, or social challengesMaintain all secondary student transcripts and oversee college/career planning for the districtDevelop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that address academic, career, and personal/social development of studentsProvide consultations and referrals for teachers, students, and families as neededReview all student intake paperworkAttend CSE, 504, grade level, and department meetings to ensure proper coordination of services/programs Guide students through the college application process, including financial aid and scholarship opportunitiesCoordination for students involved in outside programming, such as early College High School, SUNY Adirondack, Distance Learning, etc. QualificationsNYS Certification in School Counseling/Guidance.Experience with students with social/emotional needs.Experience with secondary students preferred.Salary is commensurate on experience and demonstrated success working with students.
