The Ardsley UFSD is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and knowledgeable Varsity Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach for its high school lacrosse program. The successful candidate will foster a positive and competitive team culture while promoting sportsmanship, skill development, and academic success among student-athletes.Responsibilities:Help to plan, organize, and deliver high-quality lacrosse practices and game strategies in collaboration with the Head Coach. Provide leadership and mentorship that supports student-athlete growth on and off the field.Teach fundamental and advanced lacrosse skills consistent with age-appropriate development.Communicate regularly with players, families, athletic administration, and school staff.Model and reinforce high standards of sportsmanship, respect, and responsibility.Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes, following NYSED, NYSPHSAA, and district guidelines.Attend all practices, games, team meetings, and required school/district training.Collaborate with the Athletics Department and the Head Coach on program development, feeder patterns, and youth engagement where appropriate.Uphold all district, Section, NYSPHSAA, and NYSED policies related to interscholastic athletics.Required Coaching Credentials – New York StateAll candidates must meet New York State Education Department (NYSED) coaching requirements for interscholastic athletics in a public school or be willing to obtain:Current First Aid and CPR/AED certificationsFingerprint clearanceCompletion of an approved Child Abuse Identification & Reporting workshopCompletion of an approved School Violence Prevention (SAVE) workshop.Completion of the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) workshop.For Non-Teacher Coaches:Candidates who are not NYS-certified teachers must also:Hold or be eligible to pursue a Temporary Coaching License or Professional Coaching License through NYSED.Additional Preferred Qualifications:Prior lacrosse coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or competitive youth level.Understanding of Section 1 and NYSPHSAA rules, sportsmanship policies, and season expectations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, and staff.Spring Dates: March 9, 2026 - June 1, 2026In addition to applying on OLAS, you must also apply on our website at www.ardsleyschools.org (click on Careers).
