Qualifications:NYS Music K-12 certificationCandidates will seek to nurture a love of music and provide students with a firm understanding of musical concepts and skillsDirect the middle school 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade chorale groups, with the possibility of a General Music sectionProvide students with an understanding of musical concepts and skills while nurturing a love of musicMaintain schedule of community performances with after-school ensemblesCoordinate and schedule small group instructionPerform any and other such duties as requested by the building principalPrepare students for concert performances Maintain cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with colleaguesCollaborate with Music Department colleagues to organize concerts and school-wide eventsExcellent vocal, choral, and music trainingElectronic music and software skills (Garage Band, Sibelius, etc.) & knowledge of ORFF-Schulwerk/Kodaly methodsProficient in piano, recorder, ukulele and guitar skillsActive membership and knowledge of professional music organizations - NafME, NYSSMA, state, ACDA (preferred)Detail-oriented3-5 years of successful K-8 Choral Music & General Music teaching preferred Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)Participates on the MTSS Team and a solid understanding and investment in the MTSS processHighly effective provision of mandated individual and group speech/language servicesKnowledge of ABA and assistive technology/augmentative communication/hearing aids/devices preferredIn addition to applying on OLAS, you must also apply on our website at www.ardsleyschools.org (click on Careers).
