POSITION: Director of Special EducationEFFECTIVE DATE: September 3, 2024APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 19, 2024QUALIFICATIONS:Possesses SDA or SDL certificationPrevious administrative experience preferredAbility to support the vision and work of the Assistant Superintendent of PPS & Special Education, Superintendent, and administrative team. The successful candidate must have an understanding of and experience with the following:Interpreting, guiding, and supporting district-wide compliance with all special education Federal and State law and regulationsChairing Committee on Special Education and Section 504 meetingsDeveloping and supporting implementation of Individual Education ProgramsProviding leadership and support for the implementation of the continuum of Special Education programs and related servicesSupporting curriculum and instruction guided by current research and evidence-based strategies in the fieldConducting staff supervision and evaluationCollaboratively managing the special education team with staff and parents Supporting budget development Conducting grant writingCompleting other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for PPS and Special EducationLetter of interest, resume, certification(s), and transcript(s) must be attached to the OLAS application. The salary range is $165,000 - $185,000 commensurate with experience.
