NYS High School Special Education Certification with dual certification in a major content area – English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science - Broad experience working successfully with students with disabilities in a Resource Room and Co-teaching setting-Differentiates and implements curriculum aligned with the NYS Learning Standards-Incorporates evidence-based, best-practices, interventions, and instructional strategies to meet the individual needs of students -Administers and interprets comprehensive educational evaluations-Successfully chairs/participates in CSE/504 meetings and skillfully develops IEPs-Demonstrates highly effective communication skills with parents, students, and school personnel -Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty and parents-Successfully serving as a member of the Child Study Team, implementing the principles of Response to Intervention and Least Restrictive EnvironmentThe Academic Support Program supports students in grades 9-12 who are working towards a Regents or Local diploma with the option of a CDOS credential. It supports students with learning disabilities who have challenges maintaining the pace of general academic instruction. The program offers mainstream academics with a program teaching assistant as well as special class support for academic subjects in a small group ration as needed. The program is supported by a special educator, school psychologist and teaching assistants.Proper NYS Teaching certification is required
