The APW School District is seeking a School Business Official to oversee the financial operations of the District, including the development and maintenance of annual budgets and long range financial projects under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools and in accordance with state and federal law. Required Credentials:New York State School District Business Leader (SDBL) certificationORBachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related fieldAND5+ years of experience experience in related fieldANDSuccessful Completion of School Business Executive Civil Service ExaminationJob Duties:Participate as a full member of the District’s leadership team.Build a team of Business Office personnel.Serve as data privacy officer (DPO), FOIL records officer, and purchasing agent for the districtAlign school finances to District goals.Manage District purchasing.Work with the Superintendent in preparation of a budget calendar, and prepare the budget per Superintendent’s direction, including the coding of proposed expenditures and creation of public documents.Project and monitor revenues and expenditures, providing regular reports as required, communicating regularly with the Superintendent regarding cash flow and actions necessary to meet needs.Supervise investment and borrowing functions of the Treasurer.Assist in the development, review, and adherence to fiscal policy.Serve as District representative in dealings with State Education Department, major contractors, auditing firms, insurance vendors, financial institutions, and BOCES as necessary for smooth functioning of District financial operations.Oversee the completion of state aid worksheets and other required reports.Prepare financial estimates and reports as requested by the Superintendent.Evaluate personnel under his/her supervision.Coordinate District employee benefits information.Provide annual budget presentations to the Board of Education, staff, and communityOther job duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsSALARY: Negotiable or Competitive
