DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM(Reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction) The Amityville Union Free School District is seeking a highly qualified and visionary Director of Curriculum to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to serve in a diverse, high-needs district committed to educational equity, academic excellence, and preparing all students for college and career opportunities.Responsibilities:Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum aligned with New York State Standards and the district’s strategic goals.Collaborate with building and district administrators to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum across PreK–12.Provide direct supervision to the ENL and bilingual programs to support multilingual learners.Support the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction in monitoring teaching and learning, identifying gaps in student achievement, and advancing research-based instructional practices.Develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities that address the needs of a diverse student population, including multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and gifted and talented students.Use assessment data (e.g., NYS 3-8, Regents, iReady, local benchmarks) to inform instructional decision-making and provide guidance to principals and teacher leaders.Ensure compliance with NYSED regulations, ESSA requirements, and grant-funded initiatives (Title I, II, III, IV, IDEA, etc.).Partner with teachers, families, and community stakeholders to build understanding and support for curriculum initiatives.Supervise and evaluate instructional staff as assigned.Other related responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:NYS Certification as a School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)Master’s degree Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience and three years of school/district-level leadership.Demonstrated success in leading curriculum development, instructional improvement, and equity initiatives in a diverse district.Strong knowledge of current research and best practices in curriculum, assessment, and instruction.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Experience fostering collaborative relationships with administrators, teachers, families, and community partners. SALARY RANGE: Competitive salary commensurate withexperience $150,000 - $170,000 START DATE: On or about November 3, 2025
