SPECIAL ED TEACHER – 8:1:1 ProgramProbationary AppointmentNorthwest Elementary School 2025/2026 School Year DESCRIPTION: Amityville UFSD is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work in an 8:1:1 program serving students primarily on the autism spectrum. The successful candidate will provide individualized instruction, implement evidence-based strategies, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support academic, communication, social, and behavioral growth. RESPONSIBILITIES:Deliver instruction aligned with IEP goals.Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse needs.Collaborate with related service providers and families.Implement strategies such as visual supports, AAC, and sensory regulation.Maintain data on student progress and participate in CSE meetings.Ensure all students receive mandated services and serve as case manager in collaboration with related service providers.QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities – appropriate grade level).Experience working with students with autism preferred.Knowledge of Autism, AAC, and structured teaching strategies a plus. SALARY: ATA Contract
