VACANCY ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION Effective: July 1, 2024 Amityville UFSD is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. The ideal candidate will possess the personal characteristics necessary to work collaboratively with District staff. Title: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & InstructionQualifications: SDA / SDL CertificationReports to: Superintendent of SchoolsSupervises: Building Administrators Various Directors and Department Administrators Performance Responsibilities: The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible to assist the Superintendent of Schools in the planning, development and implementation of the district wide curriculum program. This also includes the district wide organization and planning of state and local assessments, as well as the analysis of data and professional development for building use of data. Specific Duties and Responsibilities are as follow: Supervise Principals and various Directors including observations and evaluationsPrepare and facilitate all entitlement grantsResponsible for all corrective action plans for SEDPlan, approve and oversee all contractual professional development through FrontlinePlan and present professional development for teachers and administratorsResponsible for the approval of field trips, conferences and workshopsResponsible for the continuation and enhancement of the instructional program of study K-12. This includes, maintain a budget for ELA, math, science, social studies, world languages, ENL etc.Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the hiring of instructional personnelHire and oversee consultants and job-embedded training and coachingPlan and oversee all AIS programs, K-12 in the District, including training, updates, funding, ordering, and communication with liaison on a regular basisLead the Curriculum CouncilCoordinate all curriculum areas of instruction K-12Prepare reports requested by the Superintendent, Board of Education State Education Department and other agencies of governmentCollaborate with the Superintendent by developing long-range plans as related to the Next Generation Learning Standards and curriculum alignmentEnsure afterschool, summer programs and summer school are appropriately planned and fundedSupervise the Title I programWrite and maintain all applicable grantsCollaborate with the appropriate entities to obtain their plan for the Title ID grantUpdate and maintain approval for Parent Participation Policy.
