Job Description:The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive physical education program for students in grades K-8. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with students and a commitment to providing a high quality program. The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop a comprehensive physical education program that meets the needs of students and their families; meet all state and local licensing requirements; and reflect the values of Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls.Plan, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive physical education program that meets the needs of students and their families.Serve as an advocate for students as they seek advice on problems or concerns.Provide professional development for staff, parents, students, and community partners regarding health, safety, nutrition, and wellness.Participate in curriculum development meetings to ensure alignment with professional goals.Provide support to teachers as needed to ensure professional growth and development.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships effectively.Knowledge of health care management principles and practices.Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute activities over time with a minimum amount of supervision.Apply on OLAS
