The North Shore School District seeks a high school principal who is an energetic, dynamic, hardworking person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
A rich educational and successful teaching background with administrative experience
An articulate communicator and good listener who possesses the ability to express a clear point of view both verbally and in writing
Possess a thorough and insightful understanding of high school students as learners and people
High expectations for all students and demonstrated experience in empowering student growth
A commitment towards building an already strong academic program, including dual enrollment, International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, and a full compendium of coursework in general and special education leading to college prep and career readiness
Ability to collaborate to implement the educational goals and objectives of a high performing school district
A demonstrable record in ensuring academic and social equity for all students
A demonstrable commitment to staff and student wellness and ability to work collaboratively with the faculty, while bringing his/her own unique talents to an extremely vibrant high school
A track record of accuracy, detail, and both personal and professional integrity
A creative problem-solver and thinker who inspires others and instills confidence in all constituencies
Extensive knowledge and experience in pedagogy, scheduling, and innovative student programming
Flexible in responding to the daily demands of a changeable job and committed to the effective and successful completion of tasks
Appropriate NYS certification as a School Building Administrator or School Building Leader SDA, SDL, SAS, or SBL
Salary competitive and commensurate with experience
Doctorate not required, but preferred
